CUSHION CARE & SAFETY INFORMATION

Please read this information before using or caring for your cushion cover, separate cushion insert or ready-filled cushion. Always retain and follow the product-specific instructions, sewn-in care label and warning labels supplied with your item. If product-specific information differs from this general information, follow the instructions for that product.

WHAT YOU HAVE PURCHASED

We sell cushion products in different formats. Some products are cushion covers only, with no insert included. Some are separate cushion inserts, supplied for use inside a compatible cushion cover. Some are ready-filled cushions, supplied with the cover and insert already together.

Always check the individual product page and your order confirmation to confirm what is included with your particular product. Do not assume that every cushion includes an insert, or that every insert is suitable for outdoor use.

USING CUSHION COVERS AND INSERTS

Use an insert that matches the stated cover size. An insert that is too large can overstretch the fabric, seams and zip. An insert that is too small may not provide the intended shape and support.

Place the cover on a clean, dry surface. Open the zip carefully without forcing it. Fold or compress the insert gently and guide it into the cover. Position the insert evenly, then close the zip fully. Check that no fabric or filling is caught in the zip.

Do not use the cushion if its cover, seams or zip are torn, damaged or difficult to close.

READY-FILLED CUSHIONS

Ready-filled cushions should be treated as a complete cushion. Do not attempt to remove the filling or open seams that are not intended to be opened by the customer.

Check the care label before cleaning. The cover and insert may have different care requirements, and some ready-filled cushions may only be suitable for gentle spot cleaning.

If a ready-filled cushion becomes wet, remove it from outdoor use promptly and allow it to dry thoroughly in a clean, well-ventilated area. Do not store a damp cushion, as trapped moisture can lead to odour, mould and deterioration of the filling or cover.

OUTDOOR CUSHION COVER CARE

Our outdoor cushion covers are designed for outdoor styling and everyday lounging. Brush off loose dirt, sand, leaves and debris regularly. Treat sunscreen, food, bird droppings, pool chemicals and other marks promptly with a soft damp cloth.

Use mild soap and fresh water where needed, then wipe clean. Test any cleaner on a small hidden area first. Do not use bleach, solvents, harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, stiff brushes or high-pressure cleaning equipment.

Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron or dry-clean unless the sewn-in care label specifically permits it. Allow the cover to dry completely before refitting an insert or storing it.

Store cushions and covers under cover in a clean, dry, well-ventilated place when they are not in use or when rain is expected. Outdoor-suitable and weatherproof fabrics still require care. They are not a guarantee against every type of weather, staining, fading or water ingress.

To help preserve your cushions, bring them under cover during prolonged rain and when they will not be used for extended periods.

CUSHION INSERT CARE

Separate cushion inserts are not automatically weatherproof or waterproof. Keep them dry and protected from rain, pool water, chlorine, saltwater and damp ground.

If an insert becomes wet, remove it from the cover where possible and allow it to dry completely in a clean, well-ventilated area before returning it to the cover or putting it into storage.

Do not submerge an insert in water. Do not machine wash or tumble dry an insert unless its own care label specifically permits it. Do not use an insert that is torn, leaking filling, mouldy, badly soiled or has a damaged seam or zip.

CARE OF READY-FILLED OUTDOOR CUSHIONS

For cushions supplied already filled, follow the care label and product page first. Where the cushion is suitable for outdoor use, clean surface marks promptly with a soft damp cloth and mild soap where needed.

Avoid prolonged heavy rain, standing water, chlorine, saltwater and intense sunlight. Bring the cushion under cover when not in use and during wet weather. Allow it to dry completely before storage.

Do not leave a wet or damp ready-filled cushion on timber, decking, outdoor furniture or other surfaces where moisture may become trapped. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron or dry-clean a ready-filled cushion unless the specific product care label says that this is permitted.

POOLSIDE AND OUTDOOR SAFETY

Cushion covers, inserts and ready-filled cushions are for dry seating and decorative use only. They are not pool floats, flotation devices, water toys or lifesaving equipment. Do not use them in a swimming pool, spa, ocean, lake, river or any other body of water.

Keep cushions away from pool edges, wet surfaces, balconies, stairs, fireplaces, heaters, barbecues, candles, cigarettes, open flames and other heat sources.

Do not use cushions as a step, climbing aid, jumping surface, landing pad or support on unstable furniture.

SAFETY AND INSPECTION

Inspect cushions, covers and inserts regularly, particularly before and after outdoor use. Check for fading, tears, loose stitching, seam separation, damaged zips, mould, odour, water damage or exposed filling.

Stop using the item immediately if it is damaged. Keep loose filling and damaged inserts out of reach of children and pets. If filling is exposed, keep children and pets away, clean it up promptly and repair or replace the affected item before using it again.

WARNING: Cushion filling may present a choking or suffocation hazard if swallowed or inhaled.

Keep filling securely contained and out of reach of children and pets. Never allow children or pets to climb inside a cushion cover, insert or packaging.

Cushions are not safe sleeping surfaces for babies or infants under 12 months of age. Do not leave babies, children or vulnerable people unattended on or near cushions, particularly near water, steps or other hazards.
